The NICU Series was developed by Rochelle and Scott Barsuhn of Barsuhn Design Incorporated after the birth of their daughter, Sophia, at 24 weeks and designed by Sandra Harper, whose daughter, Alex, spent time in a Level II nursery.

Now practitioners in neonatal intensive care units and special care nurseries (Levels II & III) can order printed, ready to use communication materials to help support parents in the hospital environment.
